Every ethnic group in the United States has its problems. However the African – American community is in a state of complete disrepair. Black people have no institution our own. A group cannot survive totally dependent on others. It is true that certain members of the black community can live on without their peers, but they will be seen as relics of a lost people by members of other ethnic groups. Black people have the tools needed to save ourselves. We have an educated class of skilled laborers. All we need are plans to build ourselves up again. Below is a list of ideas, easy to implement, that can serve as a path out of the pit we find ourselves in.

Embrace our Status

Black people are second class citizens in the United States. We do not have any power in terms of the policies that we live by in our lives. It is time that we understand what other ethnic groups know. That is that American institutions are made for “American” people. The rest of us get after those who are constitutional citizens get all that they want. In other words we are on our own.

Nurture Our Children

We will read to our children from the womb until they can read for themselves for at least one hour per day. We will speak to our children in controlled tones. We will tell them that we love them once every day.

Rally Our Leaders

The best thinkers from each neighborhood and or county will gather together. These people will meet once a month to discuss the problems of the local community as well as enact solutions. The leaders will publish an annual document of solutions.

Educate Ourselves

Each year we will take the top five students from each public school in our area to home school them. We will educate these children in a multidimensional way. For example we will teach them about the Founding Fathers using primary documents from the perspectives of the Founders, Native Americans, English, and African laborers.

Eat Properly

At least 4 meals a week should be prepared at home and not pre cooked. Each meal should include at least 1 green vegetable (preferably frozen not canned). All meals should be eaten at tables. If the family is home at the same time, we should eat together.

Control Our Image

No black person should support any form of entertainment that demeans black people in the slightest. If we are unsure of which shows, movies, or songs are demeaning, we can look to our leaders for help.  We should support actors, directors, singers, etc. that create works showing black people in a positive light.

Extend Ourselves

We will rebuild relationships with family members with whom bonds have not been broken. We must communicate with these relatives at least once a week.

If you have any ideas that you would like to add send them to us and we will post them.
